This has been an ongoing problem for a year and a half and at this point I am clueless and am considering taking it to a lawyer. Most people know that there is no way to reach a POC in regard to a hotmail or msn account...so i have been giventhe run around and have tried all that the online support suggestions guide me to do. My sister passed away December 2008. I have repeatedly closed her hotmail account..but windows live does not REALLY close the account until after 270 days of not logging in. So there is some hacker that keeps going into my sisters account, reactivating it and sends spam email out to hundreds of people. At this point literally hundreds of emails have been sent from my sisters in box since she has passed away. I DON'T WANT 270 DAYS....I WANT HER ACCOUNT DELETED IMMEDIATELY. Why is that so hard? I mean it's kind of freaky when people get emails from someone who has been dead for over 1 year. I closed her account for the 3rd time about 2 months ago...and I though finally it worked. But guess what? I sent her an email and didn't get that undeliverable message. I found that her account was reopened and between April and May hundreds of emails have been sent from her inbox. What am I supposed to do other than contact my sister estate lawyer to contact MSN legal department?

Have you tried "changing the password" to the account, then not using it for 270 days?

Yes...that's what I tried last time, so I was convinced it would work. I've reset the password again as well as the security questions and closed the acct today..so hopefully it will work.

I’m sorry for your grief; we had the same problem happen when my father passed away in January. We were told only he could close the account. Bla bla bla. What I did to minimize the damage to others was this: Go into the account and delete all of the contacts that are saved. Then set the receiving emails to only known contacts and the rest go to junk mail. Since you deleted all the contacts all the mail will go into the junk folder, and then set the junk emails to be deleted immediately. And make sure you send Microsoft all the junk mail reports the account is getting, they closed my fathers after a month.

- Upgraded the power supply to 600Watt, in order to get the Nvidia 8800 graphics card to run. And added 1GB of memory even through 32 bit Vista will not use it all.
