Narrow window

I'm a new forum user - have an irritaing prioblem with Mail. For years, when I opend Mail, I got a full screen tomuse, but recentkly, kit has sontabeously contractednto a narrow quarter oage on the left, and every time i have to click on the 'square' at top right to expand it. Every time I close, it junps back to the small window. Is there any way that I can return to the old format and keep a full page to work on, as the narrow area breaks up my written messages into stupid blocks?

Type the name of your client in search. (windows live mail or windows maile). When you see the client name, right click>properties>then run:maximized.
If the problem happens after that, always close with an enlarged screen from file. Do not close by clicking the X. I have found with these size issues, if you follow my instructions for a while, the mail client will learn.

TY for your kind words and rep. I am sending you another post rather than adding to the above, to be sure that you see it.

You may also want to try, in addition, to the information that I have given you, enlarge the screen by pulling on the sides and top, then hit the enlarge box (upper right near the X) to make the full screen. I have found that sometimes the screen opens to the pulled size rather than the size indicated by using the enlarge box (near the X) full screen.
