All. I have an annoying problem. I use my Vista PC for image editing and organization. I browse to these files quite often, and they are arranged in a very hierarchical directory structure with folders on top of folders to keep everything nice and neat.
Many times, I will need to perform an edit that I require assistance from the internet on. So I fireup my trusty browser, drop down what I expect to be the internet browsing history to visit a trusty resource that I recently visited, only to find that my @#%@^%ing local browsing history has almost completely populated this list. Check it out:
I have been desperately searching for a solution to this problem for almost 2 years now, and NOBODY seems to know how to separate local file system browsing from Internet Explorer browsing. Does Vista Forums? I might have even asked this question before here. I have searched many forums for "local browsing IE7" or "no local browsing cache" or "delete local browsing history". I know you can vaporize this by simply clearing the browser history, but regardless of MS insistence, IE is not explorer.exe, and I don't understand why they tried to make it so in this respect.
I want to use Explorer for local browsing and IE for the internet. Are there 3rd party file system browsers available for Windows that WON'T cache local browsing? There MUST be away to prevent this from happening. I'm losing my @#$@ing mind over this
