Solved How to pull e-mail from hard drive

This past week my computer has kept having to get system restore done, and this morning the computer went kaput. I have a warranty on the computer so I'm not worried about getting the computer fixed, but do need the files.

I was able to plug the hard drive into my old XP computer and am able to pull my files and documents off the hard drive, but can't figure out how to get my windows e-mail in and outbox files so I do not loose important contacts, etc.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, most likely will be upgraded to Windows 7 when I use the warranty. How do I pull the e-mail onto my XP computer untill I get the new computer and restore my files there?

I understand that, I thought you couldn't find where they were, I just posted that to give you a place to look for them. Is that what you're trying to do or did I misunderstand you?

Maybe I am confused, because I looked for that file but couldnt find it, I find the program file for windows mail but thats it, and it seems to have just the program, which wont run on xp ya know?

I just want the e-mails and contacts, the problem I think I have is I never saved people as contacts unless the e-mails saved them automatically for me? Is that the case that any e-mail address I sent to or recieved mail from gets saved?

I don't think it saves them automatically, I think you have to manually "add to contacts" list. So if you can get your emails, that would be of some help?

Yea if I could view the e-mails it would be the best bet has I have important confirmations/passes/etc in them, I guess I should try to find out if there is a way to import messages from windows mail to outlook express but it doesn't seem like there is a way to down version.

Ok for some reason the user folder disappeared but I was able to get to it, I wonder if not everything is showing up because I am on XP trying to save it. Thank you for all your help tonight. I'm just gonna finish up the backup for now of actual computer files and then when I wake up try the other link you sent me.

O.K. so I'm an idiot Derekimo. When the "user" folder disappeared and I couldn't find it, I type it in manually to get to it. That made me think, let me manually type in what you had show on the original picture, and it opened, and there are all the e-mails. Thank you so much, it was me being stupid lol.

I might need your help when I get the new computer with Windows 7 on it to open it now in the next few days, hahaha
