Solved sending links in email

Hi, I am still trying to find out how to send a link in an email without having to list the entire URL. Such as we can do on forums, etc. I am using Windows Mail with Windows Vista Home Premium 64, soon to upgrade to Windows 7.


Example—if I wanted to send a link to aol ionstead of having to list it this way,
www.aol.com, I should be able to list it as just aol and clicking on the link will go right there.

Any suggestions? I get emails like that all the time but can't figure out how to send one.....

Hello CalRed, You should be able to copy & paste the url from your browser and paste it to your cursor blink on the email you are sending.
There is also an option if you right click on the IE browser & select customise then add or remove commands you will find a send link by email option you can add to IE browser
As far as shortening the url i think you can right click on it and select Rename i think this works? you can only try

CalRed... It is very simple....

In Windows Mail, do the following (using your AOL as an example).

1. In the message body, type in AOL (or whatever you want the link to look like).

2. Highlight the text AOL (or whatever you typed).

3. Click on the "create hyperlink button".

4. Enter the URL there.

Now your message will show the link exactly as you typed it instead of the URL.

That my friend is basic email etiquette for even a new user.

Thanks very much. I felt as if it was simple but hadn't learned that one yet. I have always used Incredimail but when I recently bought my quad computer I decided to use Windows Mail.
