We bought my grandfather his first computer and he's not much of a typist yet. We've almost taught him how to send an email, using WLM, but the spell checker pops up when he tries to send a message. Is there a way to disable this? Thanks.

Ugh. Is it an option? I have Logmein installed but I can never catch him when he has it on. He's deaf so it doesn't help to call him tell him to turn it on. I live a few hundred miles away from him. His neighbor was helping him, saw spell checker was a problem, then emailed me asking me to turn it off.
I'm running Ubuntu so I can't test it easily. Is there an easy option to shut it off?

If you pass on this information to your grandfathers neighbour it may help.
When he has Windows Live Mail open go to Tools and click on Options and when that opens click on the Spelling tab and he should be able to take all the tick marks out of the boxes that tell the Spell Check how to work.

I don't know if you are still around but I am having spellchecker problems with Live Mail. I want to disable it but my 'tools' tab has no 'options' button; just the 'send/receive' and 'work offline' choices. Am I missing something?
