Continual Windows Mail Log-on Requests

Hello - new to all this and a bit of a techno-phob so bear with me. Got a new computer a few months back that was working fine however for the past couple of months anytime we try to use our Windows Mail we are faced with repeated Windows Security Log-on verification requests seeking a username and password. We on average need to repeat this process on about 8 - 10 occasions before our mail will download etc. Ive contacted Norton who gave some instruction but they say its a Windows problem and not Norton 2009. Its driving me insane. Can anyone offer any lay-man type advice???? many thanks.

I am experiencing the same issue - I set up email accs for my wife & daughter sometime ago & until yday had noprobs. Then I tried to configure the email facility to an IPOD Touch & have clearly amended something as my daughter keeps getting the same message asking to verify User Name & Password.

Our e-mail addresses are thro Sky where I can send emails thro SkyMail no probs - but when I try & send/receive thro Windows Mail we get the error message.

I have checked all the Windows Mail settings & they look OK. Does my settings with Sky need to mirror Windows Mail? They look like they do, though.

NPA - now that you mention it, these problems may well coincide with my wife getting her iPod Touch and downlaoding iTunes....hopefully someone may come up with a reply that sorts it out !!
