Today I had a real problem with my Windows Live Mail [Hotmail] account, that caused it to freeze after only 8 of 20 Tasks had been completed in the download process.
After aborting the Live Mail download, I clicked the Errors tab, and was presented with the following Error Message;
I did a Google search for Windows Live Mail Error 0x800C006F, and this is the nearest 'non-solution' that it came up with;
Windows Live Mail Desktop Stuck at Check for new messages on 'Account Name'
I too, attempted to clear the problem with three re-boots of my Laptop...all unsuccessful, and very frustrating.
In desperation and as a last resort, I decided to complete a full System Restore back to the most recent Restore Point [because it was set at an earlier point, prior to the time that the Error Issue surfaced] in my System.
The System Restore was successful, my Windows Live Mail [Hotmail] Accounts have all been fully restored, and are now back to full working order.
I hope that this fix method helps anybody who is hit with the same Error message in their Windows Live Mail [Hotmail] account.
