Windows Mail problems - HELP!!

When I open windows mail and select 'send/receive' I have to enter my user name and password up to 5 times to receive this. In the past I was able to receive mail without this. I would not mind having to input these details once but 5 times is ridiculous. Can anyone help? What settings can I change to amend this?

Some times windows mail and all mail programs for that matter get corrupted for one reason or another. Sometimes it's an update and others it might be registry error/corruption...it's just hard to pin point most of the time. From my experience the best and quickest solution is to remove the email account and then re-add it. Making sure that you have your incoming and outgoing POP3/SMTP server information if need for manual set up. If you don't have it you can get it from your ISP via phonecall/email...from another machine if need be. Hope this helps.
