Mouse, Browser, Internet or am I going blind?

I have noticed this more and more either with IE 6, 7 or 8 and/or Mozilla Firefox 3 that I use now.

Say I google something, new page opens up with all the links, I hit the first link (whole link gets highlited) but nothing happens, I have to click on it a second time, ok, no biggie, must of not have clicked on it correctly. Same fate when I am on this community or any other community and I want to go to one of the different forum sections

It is happening more and more now, sometimes, I even have to click on it 3 times for it to start opening the new page.

Is anyone else in the same boat or am I going to hell all by my lonesome! :cry:

I really don't know the answer, but sometimes in IE8, if you hit the Compatibilty View button, it seems to trigger the desired action.
