Can't Open Jpeg Photo attachments

I have Vista 32 Bit.

1. Quite often before I send off a photo attachment by Windows Mail I like to view what I am sending, very often I am not able to open the attachment, there appears a small window 'item not found.'

2. I sometimes get comments back that the receiver cannot open the attachment OR they only see the photo in the main body of email.

I thought I should add. I use Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Live Photo Gallery. It is possible this is the cause?

Are the two problems inter related?

I am on an email mailing list of friends. We send photos back and forth. I have noticed that sometimes the photos show up inline in the email, and sometimes not. It doesn't seem to matter which email program any of us use.

I save them to a folder and look at them using Irfanview, a free copyrighted program, and it works everytime.

I suggest you put the photos into a .zip folder and attach that .zip folder. And if you have a lot of pictures to forward, uploading them to Photobucket is handy. http://photobucket.com/
