"Stopped working" appears on mail, etc startup

I've just run all my Kaspersky, etc tools and still get a "Program Has Stopped Working" message for things like Windows Mail, the installer for Windows Live Mail, etcHave restarted, downloaded RegistrySmart and "fixed" 610 things, but still no mail program, etc. Anything else I can do to get back to functionality? Thanks, Nancy
