Email rejection 451 4.7.1

When sending emails I receive a message "Your email message was unable to be sent because your mail server rejected the message 451 4.7.1 <End of Message> data rejected:ip has temporarily exceeded the allowed mail recipient relay per day"
Is it a coincidence that the problem occurred in=mmediately after accepting a windows update?

Hi Terry, and welcome to Vista Forums.

I'm not sure if Windows Update played a part in this or not, but I would contact your email provider and ask them about the message you received. They should be able to help you better with this.

It came on last night and I haven't been able to send email since

Hi,

This error message appears to be connected with something called 'Greylisting', a spam preventative measure. For more information, follow the link at the end of this post. In the meantime, if you can access your email via the Web interface instead of Windows Mail, then this might allow you to operate your email temporarily whilst this issue is sorted out.
